Most hiking-oriented casual shoes taper aggressively at the forefoot, forcing your toes into a narrow wedge by mile three. Mount Ararat took the opposite approach. This mid-cut silhouette is built around a wide toe box last that lets your forefoot expand naturally during ascents, descents, and long flat stretches. The upper is frosted microfiber — a textured synthetic surface that resists surface scuffing from brush and gravel without the stiffness of traditional leather break-in.
Inside, a mesh lining manages moisture transfer between the upper and your sock, while the EVA disposable-foam midsole provides lightweight cushioning under the heel and metatarsals. The non-slip rubber outsole uses a geometric tooth pattern that bites into packed dirt, dry rock, and urban pavement alike. A front lace-up closure with metal eyelets lets you adjust tension across the instep independently from the ankle collar, so you can lock the heel for downhill stability without crushing the midfoot.
